How old is busted

And I feel like, as soon as we forgot about that, we found a place with this album. What is terrible to me is audience research and market research, all that stuff should be illegal man, it should be about instinct. What's wrong with that? Charlie: "There are algorithms now for music. Whoever's writing Little Mix songs or whatever are chasing algorithms. Now, it's just like how many Instagram followers you have. That doesn't mean anything.

I worry that when we talk about this stuff, we end up sounding like old men. But there's lots of positives to the way the industry is moving, accessibility for new artists is fantastic because people can build their own fan bases. James: "Look, hits are great but there's got to be room for more than that, if you really want to get interesting again. When is the next Bohemian Rhapsody going to be written? When is somebody going to write a song like that? It wouldn't get played on radio in a million years.

How do those outside-the-box hits happen in the world now? Charlie: "We went back to basics, man, we got a couple of acoustic guitars in the place where we wrote the first album. We went back to the same building we moved into as year-olds and sat there and wrote songs.

It was literally that simple and once we had that plan, it took about three weeks. Music can take you to a place and time with the first strike of a chord. Harnessing that power but making a record that doesn't sound dated, creating a fresh approach, that was the aim of this record. It has a nostalgic feeling but is very much a modern record.

That thing James: "The whole band could burn tomorrow and every one of us would be fine because there are so many other things we can do to make money. One thing that the last two years has proven, is that there is a reason why it took off the first time and why it can be a success this time. Because there is a 'thing'. There's like this cool thing, whatever it is. Charlie :"We were talking about that earlier. The fourth member of Busted, is Busted.

It was all just very natural, just a free flowing process, we didn't really stop to think about it. James: If we liked the way it sounded we just kept going. If we weren't feeling it in the moment we didn't finish it.

Charlie: We were getting in the studio at 10am, coming out at 8, 9pm and these songs were really being recorded on day-by-day basis. Charlie: I think it's the old fans I'm most apprehensive of - seeing if they're going to come with us on this new journey. I've got a feeling that they are. The people I've shown that were Busted fans back in the day absolutely love it.

It's always nerve-wracking releasing any music, regardless of what it is. But you can't make music for other people, you have to be happy with yourself. Matt: This is the exact album that I want to be on. Sometimes I listen to bands and I'm like, 'man, I want to be in that band! And it's the coolest thing, it's like 'that's me!

Charlie: We have 10 years of experience and this album is who we are now. I don't feel it's like we're 'trying to do' anything. People's perception of what Busted is and was - obviously people have to get over that initially, because this is a very different thing.

But the music is our weapon, the music is what's going to do the talking and people either will come with us or they won't, but I believe in this music enough to believe that it will change people's perceptions.

James: They will come or they won't, but you know what? The door's always open. Charlie: That is an interesting question. We never actually thought about that.

James: No. For all of us, being in a band that wasn't Busted would be weird. The whole point of a band name is so that people know who you are, and we are Busted.

Their claims were a complete fabrication and we are delighted that the judge has seen through this and totally dismissed them. Our position has been completely vindicated and our achievements with Busted remain untarnished. This article is more than 13 years old.
