Not so for Doomsday, who was created—at least in the comics—on Krypton and equals Superman in strength. Doomsday, an unthinking creature, is hellbent on killing everyone and everything in his path. He is a massive blob monster with bones protruding from his body.

But this origin diverges from the comic books. In the comics, Doomsday was born during prehistoric times on Krypton. An alien scientist named Bertron conducted a series of cruel experiments on a humanoid infant in which it is killed over and over again until it evolved into Doomsday then known as The Ultimate. Doomsday eventually kills Bertron. The movie shows Lex Luthor mixing his own blood with that of General Zod to create the monster in the Genesis Chamber of the Kryptonian spaceship that crashed in Man of Steel.

The main thing you need to know about him is that he killed the man of steel in 's "The Death of Superman. In the comics, Doomsday's powers include super strength, speed, regeneration, and he can even resurrect himself.

In his first comic appearance, he was a monster from Superman's home planet of Krypton, created after a series of experiments. In one animated movie, 's " Superman: Doomsday ," the creature is unearthed by LexCorp employees during a mining project.

The monster battled with Superman throughout Metropolis , dealing significant damage to the city in the process. Superman finally ended the threat by flying the monster high into the atmosphere, and then slamming him into the ground, impacting with the force of a bomb.

The blast killed both Superman and Doomsday. Doomsday's history in Smallville is significantly different than that in the comics, and as such we'll present this alternate biography. Doomsday was created by General Zod and Faora out of genetic material. He landed on Earth at the same time that Kal-El did, initially appearing as a mass of goop which formed into a human child.

He lived a human life under the name of Davis Bloome. He was bounced from orphanage to orphanage. He noticed that he was suffering from a series of strange blackouts. He got a job as a paramedic in Metropolis. He quickly fell for Chloe, and was jealous of Jimmy.

However, his blackouts increased in frequency. Also, there had been a killer on the loose in Metropolis, who was causing damage. Davis found himself waking up, naked and covered in blood, at these crimes. He began to suspect that he was the killer. Doomsday appeared at Chloe Sullivan 's wedding with Jimmy Olsen. At the event, he kidnapped Chloe and brought her to the Fortress of Solitude , where her personality as Brainiac asserted herself. As Davis' blackouts became worse and worse, he found that being around Chloe Sullivan was the only thing that would keep his darker side in check.

After her marriage to Jimmy Olsen ended, the two became close. Finally, in an attempt to save Clark from being forced to banish Davis to the Phantom Zone , Chloe ran away with Davis.

Clark and Chloe finally decided to separate Davis Bloome from his Doomsday persona using Black Kryptonite , which has the ability to split a Kryptonian into two.

This effect worked, leaving Clark to battle and defeat the monster in Metropolis. Meanwhile, the human side of Davis killed Jimmy Olsen, having seen him kissing Chloe. Davis himself was then killed. On occasion, there have been others to assume the identity and biology of Doomsday, as well as copies of Doomsday. Black Zero , the Superboy of an alternate universe within Hypertime , gathered and imprisoned alternate versions of Doomsday from many other Hypertime universes.

When Superboy freed them, Black Zero was forced to send them into Hypertime. Superboy : " Hyper-Tension! Darkseid had created an army of Doomsday clones, which he unleashed on the Amazons as a distraction, so that he could capture Supergirl. But these clones are not even near the strength of the real doomsday as they were hurt by spears and swords, this possibly because of the complicated DNA of the original Doomsday.

They were destroyed by Supermans Heat vision. Mxyzptlk sent a group of representatives from a parallel dimension to meet with our familiar heroes. This allows him to cover great distances quickly. Doomsday has the ability to evolve and adapt his body to resist new forms of attack. Doomsday does not need food, water or oxygen to survive. With some effort, the monster freed himself and began marching across the United States, killing and destroying whatever he came across.

The Justice League of America tried to stop the monster and failed. The two fought until they apparently beat each other to death, then both fell. He simply needed time to recover. Months later the monster revived and events sent him to the planet Apokolips. This battle resulted in Doomsday being exiled to the end of time.
